X1 Pay / Fees

Fees

You always see the full cost before you confirm. Nothing is taken that isn't on the Confirm screen. X1 Pay never pays fees on your behalf and never holds your money: whoever makes a payment pays its fees.

The network numbers are today's X1 rates and can change; your wallet or the Confirm screen always shows the exact amount.

Sending from your wallet

Only the X1 network fee, shown by your wallet when it asks you to approve. For an XNT send it is about 0.00006 XNT (59,000 lamports at most).

Adding money to your private balance

Only the X1 network fee, shown before you confirm. This move is public.

Fresh deposits cost less. Adding money no longer creates two small permanent accounts on the chain, so a deposit pays only the network fee: about 0.002 to 0.0023 XNT. That is about 0.0022 XNT less per deposit than before.

Private sends and withdrawals

Two fees, both taken from your private balance, both shown line by line on the Confirm screen:

  • Relay fee (pays the network). It goes to the relay that submits your send. The relay pays the X1 network fee and the small accounts the send creates, so your wallet never signs or pays for a private send (that would link it to you). It is 0.004944 XNT, fixed on the chain: every private send pays exactly this, so no relay can charge you differently or use the fee to single you out.
  • X1 Pay fee. 0.35% of the amount plus the relay fee, with a minimum of 0.001 XNT. It is set and enforced on the chain, and the X1 Pay app reads it from there, never from the relay.

Everyone pays the same fee schedule, so the fees themselves reveal nothing about you.

Withdrawing to your wallet, or moving your private balance to another address, pays the same two fees.

If a balance is too small to cover both fees, X1 Pay tells you ("Too little to withdraw after fees") rather than sending part of it.

When the relay isn't available

If the relay is paused or down, Withdraw to my wallet offers to do it yourself. Your wallet then sends the withdrawal and pays the network cost itself, about 0.0045 XNT (the network fee and the two small accounts every withdrawal creates), and no relay fee is charged. The X1 Pay fee is the same. Your wallet needs that 0.0045 XNT already: it pays before the withdrawal arrives. Like any withdrawal to your wallet it's public, and your wallet shows as the sender.

Money from before an X1 Pay upgrade

If X1 Pay tells you some of your private balance was added before an upgrade and can only be withdrawn to your wallet, that withdrawal also comes from your wallet, with the same rule: it needs about 0.0045 XNT in the wallet first, for the network fee and the two small accounts. Add a little XNT to the wallet if it's empty.

Getting paid

Receiving is free. Moving money you received out of its private address costs a tiny network fee (about 0.000003 XNT for XNT), paid from that address. Tokens you received need a little more to move.

Connecting your @name

A one-time record fee for the few small records X1 Pay publishes on your @name, paid by your wallet. Your wallet shows the amount when it asks you to approve each record.
